Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Consider the ideal of:

Being aware of all that is being offered to you, take only what you need to be your best, and then offer all that you have in excess of what you need to anyone who needs it.

How do you think you would be changing as you continued to get closer and closer to that ideal?

You are right this is something to be approached step by step. I like the idea that the only things you take with you when you die are things you have given away.

Great post Turil,..I think you would change, and perhaps you would begin PRODUCING "excess" once you become proficient at only "taking what you need".

I've noticed how when I take what I need with the goal of being my best in mind, I do indeed produce plenty of good stuff in excess of what I need, and have more good stuff to offer.

I used to take everything that was available that I thought I might be able to use at some point, but that got overwhelming (and my husband ended up spending lots of money on storage space when we didn't have room in our apartment for all of it), and it just ended up being so wasteful. Now that I focus on just what I need to be my best, I have plenty of space, and energy, and money, to use to create really excellent, useful stuff!

That's a great testimony Turil. Can you give us some examples of this so that we can follow your lead?

I think it's useful for individuals to think about what this means to them, perhaps once or twice a day for a week, maybe, as an experiment. When you've got some time to think, make a list (written or in your head) of all the options you have available to you right now that you're potentially interested in, then look at each one and consider if it's going to significantly contribute to your ability to be the most awesome person you want to be, and then choose to take the option that rates the highest in gonna-make-me-awesomeness.

Then, once you get good at that, and the process of taking only the best stuff becomes a mostly unconscious skill, you can focus on offering all the extra stuff that you have to others.

Or, you can do it the other way around. Giving away the extra stuff to others so that you have plenty of room to take in more of the really awesome stuff.

For me, this happened as I decided to pay more attention to what I really valued in life, and focus on more specific goals of who I wanted to be.

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
