A crash course in changing the world.
In the case study of Barefoot College in India, I think the most important lesson learned is that knowledge should not be sold. Any piece of knowledge that is shared and experienced freely has a greater chance of evolving and being relevant and beneficial to its society. In the case of Barefoot College, local knowledge is used to solve problems and create the technology in the village. Therefore, the people are owners and creators of the technologies and resources that surrounds them, and not outside companies who impose technologies that may be inefficient or ultimately increase the problem instead of solving it in order to increase profit margins.
