Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

There has been some talk lately about EVOKE "Guilds". I like this idea.

The purpose of a guild to me, at least on a site like EVOKE, would be to give people with similar interests or goals a place to communicate, collaborate, and work together towards guild specific goals and activities. It would be a cohesive and well organized network of people from all over united by some sort of shared activity, interest, goal, or idea.

The guild would have a separate site, unless Alchemy creates some feature to accommodate guilds. This site, probably a wiki, would be used to consolidate, organize, and work on guild activities and projects. The guild may also have some sort of guild specific chat room, a place to socialize with your guildmates in realtime, either to talk about EVOKE, the guild, or projects, or just to get to know your guildmates better.

Activities and projects may include: Joint or wh***-guild blog posts, guild-specific projects and activities, a wh***-guild Evokation, and whatever else would grow naturally out of such a creation.

Having said all of this, I would be interested in creating a Maker's Guild, a network for everyone in EVOKE who loves to create and make things, engineers, tinkerers, fabricators, hobbyists, etc. The guild would then create things related to Making: Blog posts, videos, and reports about things like Fablabs, Ponoko, bicyle or cement-bag bellows in Africa, windmills, and anything else made relating to social innovation; ideas for and actual inventions or objects that could be turned into social innovation (example: Amy Smith's Charcoal Maker); projects for group members to do relation to making and fabrication that would involve real action; and very possibly a guild Evokation.

You can read about my own interest in making in my ACT1 post, or another Agent's interest in fabrication in their IMAGINE1 post.

If you are interesting in being a part of or helping create this guild, let me know! Message me or reply to this, and if you see another agent who you think may like it, let them know too!

Together, we can Make the world a better place. Learn, Create, Act.

Hey everyone! The guild is made, check out the wiki: Maker's Guild Wiki
Since all of you were the interest and inspiration I needed to make this (and because the Guild needs some original members) you apply as normal, but you don't need to be reviewed by three members, just me.
So check out the site, read what I have there already, and come up with your idea. Help make this great!
Thank you all!

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
