The story I chose to follow up entitled, "Midwives Deliver - And Not Only Babies"
story lays out the desperate need for women in the world. If a women ever felt neglected, disused, unwanted and useless, this story will take all those negative feelings away and leave any woman feeling empowered, wanted and valuable. This story yearns for women and their abilities as midwives, as it displays how death is the result of lack of midwives in the world. The appeal to emotion used in this article is very significant as it presents alarming statistics such as "every day, 1,000 women die and 5,500 newborns die in the first week of life for lack of adequate medical care." These words will dampen any human spirit and cause them to feel distressed, especially women. This story is bold enough to spark interest in the field of midwifery for any women who feels the need to change the world for the better. I found this story to be so astonishing, so I researched other cases where this situation is occurring. The outcome of the research wasn't any better than the original. Once again the lack of midwives in a hospital ultimately lead to the death of newborn babies. Not only do I hope for women to read these articles and feel needed, but, I hope this is enough fuel for women to go out there and make a change in medical world! Here is a link to the other article I was referring to:
