"Share knowledge and skills to continue the innovative process both to and from people and communities."
Sharing knowledge and skills with others is vital to social innovation. No matter how educated or knowledgeable you are, someone will know something you do not. By sharing your knowledge with others freely, you will receive knowledge from them, often unexpectedly.
For example, I may know much about American history and government. If I decide to share this information with a European who is visiting, he may in turn teach me about European history. When I learn from him about European history, I see connections to what I already know about American history. Therefore, my knowledge base of European history has growth and my depth of knowledge about American history has grown too.
Another example might be social media. I know many social media tools and technologies but not how to apply them to improve the lives of others. If I turn to a friend with knowledge of social causes and share the power of social media, he could offer practical applications I could use to further social causes with social media tools.
