This game has been specifically made to be played on Mobile Phones. This is evidence of how mobile phones have completely changed peoples lives, not just in developed countries, but in developing countries, where landlines were passed over in favour of the easier Mobile. So there we go, a resource, something almost everyone, or at least every family, has, even in the poorest countries.
I post this because of a New Scientist article I read (
http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20527485.300-who-needs-banks-...) on the use of phones for banking. This innovative service allows many people without bank accounts to keep electronic money. It is estimated that in Kenya monetary exchanges through mobile phones will exceed normal banking exchanges. This is an example of how powerful phones are, and what an effect this simple service can provide to people. Doing further research, I found out there is are similar services here, in the Philippines, that I had been completely unaware of. An example is GCASH (
http://web.globe.com.ph/web/gcash?sid=1263244156369), run by the giant Globe company. 3/4 of people in the Philippines do not have access to banking services, and so GCASH and similar programs have taken off. I find this to be a great example of making use of existing resources, to improve the lives of people and give them services they could not have reached in any other way.
