I'm been looking for an economic system which services us vs us genuflecting to it since college. As a young student of history and religion, I became aware of the cycles of booms (usually unsustainable bubbles) and the long protractive busts which were so detrimental and devastating.

Thanks for the info. Thanks for all your comments. I also think as you do about balance (yin-yan). Wonder: what if we try to balance each being that we meet, one by one, as many as we can through our life so that we create a huge wave of equilibrium that will counteract the chaos?

Actually, I think that is exactly what we are doing. In my study of energy, I recognize that the Taoist adage about, "if you wish to change the world, you first begin with yourself, then you will find that is all that is necessary..." literally relates to our electromagnetic qualities and like magnets in a child's game as we balance so do those around us. Literally, take care of ourselves and do the work that is before us each day. Of course, this is a process and takes time. Lotsa time... I know I've been on this "path" for the last 14 years. Time--evidently is related to yin energy...so we need to "flow with it" and trust our individual stirrings.
I'm sure this is all nothing new to you. It's a reclamation of the wh***, healthy feminine energy which has been so subverted through his-story.
