It's not too different from the food we ate ten years ago. We have potatoes, vegetables, and meat. The main difference is that the food has come from local farmers in the region, due to a huge increase in fuel prices driving up the cost of importation. The food tastes good. There is a variety of tastes and textures, although the increase in local demand has caused the farmers to use more high-tech farming techniques, which has caused some of the taste to leach from the food. The farmers know that we can go and see how they grow their food, and farm their animals - we live just down the road you see. So they have to be somewhat responsible. The 'dodgy' and money-grabbing farmers who pushed their ethics and morals beyond a certain point have been punished with reduced custom.and are not longer trading. People are just not happy to pay for food that has been processed too much.
It is good to see farmers using the resources at their disposal to the best of their ability, and providing a service they can be proud of.
And that makes a tasty meal.
