Innovation (often) comes from constraint (If you’ve got very few
resources, you’re forced to be very creative in using and reusing them.)
I have found this to be true in life. Those people I know with an
average amount of money here tend to just go out and look for something
to buy to solve their issue. Those who cannot afford to buy a
prepackaged solution have to figure out another way. Necessity is the
mother of invention, well and laziness (or aversion to doing monotonous
things) it's father.
Once you start this way of thinking then it become easier and more
natural to see the potential in everyday items and tasks. Or in those
things that people discard. I have learned to appreciate having things
early in life be difficult, it taught me to be more creative. I know in a
global since we were sitting high on the hog even know we were poor
here, but it made a difference none the less.
Cheers
