Thank you for welcoming me! I found out about Evoke through Jane McGonigal's TED video about how increasing gaming can save the world. It was thought provoking and made a wh*** lot of sense to me. So I immediately searched for the games that she mentioned and here I am now. I have really enjoyed everything that I have learned so far, and can't wait to see how wide my eyes can be opened and how vast my understanding of the reality of the world and humanity will become. Knowledge is definitely just step number one, and I am excited to see all the different ways that missions will tie in the action. I feel so motivated already!

Great Thread Gabriel, worth of a place on the discusions forum imo. I also came to Evoke after seeing Jane Mcgonigal's TED video, and after 27 years of my own life experience which seemed to be leading me here. That fact that Jane's perspectve and my own on game's and the potential power they hold to change the world were so aligned meant i simply had no choice, it was fated - I'm one of these 'Gamers' She's talking about though a bit older than the bracket she refers to in her ted talk. Having spent the first 23 years of my life learning about 'the real world' and realising I wasnt to big a fan of the way it was all going right now, I retreated into the online world of WoW for a good 3-4 years. I am/was a WoW virtuoso - though i came to it at 23, prior to that my main focus was learning (science, logic, maths, languages, pshycology etc) and that never stopped, it just changed from the institionalised learning found in schools/universities to the collaberative learning experience provided to us by the internet. Once again this is to long to be a mere comment, so I'll copy it as a blog as well, and link it here ;)

It is great that everyone is so welcome to the new Evoke agents. I am a gamer, I love online gaming, although as of late I have not had much time to do it, my attention has been on my graduate school and the desire to live outside the game world some. Today I saw a post to my FB wall by THINKGEEK, and it was a talk that Jane McGonigal gave at TED. It was an amazing presentation! I had to look up Evoke. So I read about it, and decided to give it ago, cause right now I in my life I am looking for something more, finding myself, and learning more, the desire to make a difference has become really strong as of late. As I have gone through the first few missions I am learning so much about myself and about my community, I am so excited.
If nothing else just finding the guy I am shadowing as my Hero has been incredible, but to turn accomplishing real life things into a game, into a think tank... that was brilliant.

Dear Gaabriel,
Good day!
II think in the wh*** timeline of universe, I don’t have even a wink of time to do anything other than embracing personal integrity and probity. This philosophy has carried me this far and I hope to cross this lifetime holding closely the same philosophy and my philosophy is what I am.
With regards,
Pradip Dey

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. I walk to the fridge and open it to see what there is for me to eat. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Foods are vacc** sealded for easy…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
