A crash course in changing the world.
Going off of some of the newer exercise equipment in the marketplace, I would design shoes
that could store up energy from running.
This energy could be used to power something as simple as the iPod that
the person running uses. Building
off of this idea, I would design a gym that stores up power from all the
exercises that people are doing. I
know that there are some elliptical machines that store up power or put power
back into the grid from people using them. While this power may not be a significant amount, it is
still better than draining power from a power plant somewhere across the
state.
Another thing that blows my mind is the total underuse of solar power in America. I do not know much about solar power,
but it seems to me that if we have an energy source available to us for free
everyday, we should be using it. I
am sure that the solar panels used to capture this energy cost a significant
amount, but just think if we could rely on solar power and then only use
nuclear power or coal power as a backup.
This would completely change the face of energy and goes great with the green
movement.
