A crash course in changing the world.

drawing is alot easier than people make it seem. everyone should know how to weild a pencil just like everyone should be literate and know what a scale is, so i'm going to teach you how to draw, and since i don't have a scanner i'm going to do it blind.

there are three basic kinds of drawing all of which can vary greatly in detail or style depending on the mood of the drawer or the demands of the pencil. the three types are:

  • drawing from reality; copying real things, usually the most difficult for beginners because they have an instinct to. . .
  • draw from the imagination. imaginative drawings are based on what the drawer thinks an object should look like. cartoons are imaginative. drawing from memory often becomes drawing from the imagination.
  • the third sort of drawing is the doodle. doodles can take on any form at all. they can be huge, tiny colerful, neat, messy, ugly whatever, the uniting factor of them is that they come neither from the memory the imagination or reality, they are pure creative impulse conceived while the pen is on the paper.
there is no need to choose any one of these as a specialty, you need to master them all. most people (even those who don't draw much) have already mastered the doodle so we'll touch on the other two first.

someone has probably told you this before but the most important thing to remember when drawing is that what it looks like doesn't matter at all the point is that you drew it. not even the process, just the fact. if you want to draw things that make you happy you can, but it's a very yoda-ish process. don't ever try to draw something, if you can draw something draw it, if you can't, draw it anyway then draw it again and again. practice in drawing is only partly intellectual. if you notice mistakes, notice them. don't try to fix them, the more you draw the better your drawings will become. teaching is unnecessary, doodling is practice.

when you draw something that you do like, draw it again. the second drawing won't be as good as the first but don't pay attention to that: draw it three more times. once you've finished the fifth drawing you will know exactly why you liked the first one so much. remember that the features that you admire in one of your drawings are coded into your muscle memory, as long as you keep using a pen, those features will keep expressing, more and more frequently.

drawing from your imagination: your imagination is wonderful, you do actually know that even if you've never told yourself. if you have an idea, draw it.

drawing from nature is crucial. don't stare at people, draw them. always keep a pen around for this purpose.
people will usually notice that you are drawing them, this is okay as they have a natural instinct to pose.

doodles are the only permanent record you will ever have of the exact moment of creative spark. doodles should travel. doodles should grow like plants and contain systems of clockwork. doodles should be anthropomorphic.

the final step to drawing like a crazy artist is to impose arbitrary restrictions on oneself. this step can be a valuable tool at any level of skill but is especially useful to someone whose skill has hit a plateau. if you can draw well but are uninspired, restrict yourself: draw your house with only one line or use as many lines as possible, or use dots. construct faces out of squares. make everything bisymmetrical. only draw on garbage. there are plenty of ways to constrict oneself and concentrate ones creative flow. this practice forces you to master more and more of the thousand techniques of true artistic drawing which you can and will teach to yourself. once you have made use of a restriction, abandon it, cast it forth, combine it with others. cheat. use two lines instead of one. once you master a style combine it with another, combine everything or focus on only one thing elements of all that you have learned will always be creeping into your doodles, recognize these.

always remember that it is neither the process, the technique, or the finished product that indicates the style or voice of an artist. when the time that you spent practicing the art and developing the technique can shine through the lens of a finished product that is style. a style is like a voice. everyone has one. not to show yours to us, not to draw or at least write or sing or play is quite selfish. as i said, drawing is the easiest thing in the world. lines on paper. they make things of great beauty, just make alot of them.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
