A crash course in changing the world.
I have heroes in my life but for the most part they are people that I don't have close contact with and track what they do and how they live their lives from a distance. Lately howeve I have been making more of an effort to reconnect with friends and past associates that I value as mentors and confidants. I have scheduled time to go out to lunch with them more often, email an article I find interesting and ask for their imput. I guess in a way they are my heroes but I tend to think of them as closer associates than that.
My mother is my biggest hero. She recently spent 2 months in China staying at Chinese family's home where only the chold new any English. She is striving to build up a program to help teach family values and life skills that many there lack because it has not been stressed much in the communist dictatorship of the past. She has touched many lives with her service work and I hope to one day make an impact for good doing something. What is that something going to be?
