Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

OUR Module, OUR Evokation, OUR Farm, OUR Community Farm and OUR Farm Network: Lets crowdsource this Evokations!!!

OUR Module, OUR Farm, OUR Community Farm
and OUR Farm Network
OUR Evokation

This 4 Evokations are parts of a larger project that is described in this blog.

SOCIAL EVOLUTION WITH A GAME

The aim of the project is to PROMOTE SOCIAL EVOLUTION by creating a “Glo-cal Microfranchise” which is a flexible combination of global knowledge, standards and procedures in total symbiosis with local wisdom, uniqueness and originality. The functional units of the franchise are called “OUR Module”.

Initially “OUR modules” will focus on producing affordable ORGANIC FOOD in the cities. This is not the only mission, but it is a clever and promising quick response to the increasing challenges in developed and developing countries.

The final goal is to TRANSFORM CITIES through OUR Modules, OUR Farms and OUR Community Farms so that they can gradually achieve resilient production, distribution and consumption of water, food, energy, education, health prevention and a****sment systems.
This innovative ECONOMIC SYSTEM will be replicated to form farms and eventually a real and virtual ORGANIC URBAN RESILIENT FARMS Network- OUR Farm Network.

We intend to achieve a rapid global expansion through OUR Farm Network a social network with gameplay dynamics of OURGameplay. The Gameplay was inspired by Evoke, it enables playfarmers to have fun, upload evidence of their performance, communicate, share knowledge, surplus resources and obtain seed funding for “OUR Community Farms”.

The funds of the WBI prize will be allocated to create the first prototypes in Mexico City and the web, from where the network will expand.

OUR BELIEF
OUR belief is we are all born equal in dignity and rights. OUR belief is we all should have access to affordable: Pure water, healthy food, clean forms of energy, effective health systems, meaningful education, fun and play. OUR belief is that all humanity has the right to happiness.

OUR belief is that cooperation, open source innovation, sharing and a creative playful approach will enable us to solve the biggest challenges humanity has ever faced. OUR belief is we can evolve.

OUR belief is we all have something to share. The poor, the middle class, the wealthy, the old, the young, women, men, we all have some form of knowledge and resources to share. OUR belief is that sharing is the key.

OUR belief is we are here to take of Humanity and Earth. Joining OUR minds and hearts we can change the World and make it a better one. Join the dream, join OUR Team

OUR Vocabulary
OUR: Organic Urban Resilient. OUR Farm
Playfarmer: A mash up: player + farmer that uses and innovates with OUR Tech
OUR Tech: Open source technology combining local history, context and wisdom with global knowledge, cutting edge technology, affordability, DIY resourcefulness, space efficiency and embodied energy.
OUR Module: An affordable, DIY, space efficient, relatively easy to maintain, production unit of: water, food, energy, education, health prevention and a****sment unit. Always using OUR Tech.
OUR Farm: Household Organic Urban Resilient Farm with at least 1 Playfarmer and 1 OUR Module
OUR Glocal Microfranchise: Global + Local. Flexible combination of global knowledge, standards and procedures with local wisdom, uniqueness and originality. Sharing surplus resources and knowledge are a requirement. This microfranchise will combine the forces of markets and human needs. On one hand it will acknowledge the forces of markets and the need of humans for (financial) independence and on the other hand it will combine the human need to share and to be part of something larger than oneself.
OUR Community Farm: A group of OUR Farms playing, learning and working together in a glocal-microfranchise. Combining easy to replicate know-how and standardized procedures with local context, history and knowledge. OUR Farms will provide a place to learn science and arts; a space for everyone, a space to share.
OUR Farm Network is a website/apps with a distributed network of servers around the planet. This platform will enable playfarmers to play OURGameplay, have fun, share open source innovation, upload info and surplus resources like food, water, energy, health prevention, health diagnose, surplus medicines and education. It can be accessed via computers with great emphasis on low tech computers and cellphones using SMS so it can be used by people in third world countries where cellphones SMS is widely used.
OURGameplay: The gameplay system for OUR Farm Network inspired by Evoke that enables playfarmers to have fun, upload evidence, communicate, share info, surplus resources and obtain seed funding for OUR Community Farms.
OUR Team: A team devoted to taking care of Humanity and Earth.
OUR Company-Foundation: A group of facilitators for OUR Farm Network efforts in funding, technological, legal and PR issues. A mix between a company and a foundation or just one? join the conversation.

Since OUR is a very big project I decided to make it 4 Evokations. These Evokations are OUR Evokations so feel free to join any of them in OUR Team!!!
Evokation 1: OUR Module
Evokation 2: OUR Farm
Evokation 3: OUR Community Farm
Evokation 4: OUR Farm Network

This 4 Evokations are parts of a larger project that is described in this blog.

1. The Place. Where will you make a difference? Describe the institution, community, town or other geographic or virtual space in which you will focus your
efforts.

Evokations 1, 2 and 3 will first be tested as a pilot program in Mexico City with input and close open source innovation from the entire World. Evokation 4 will be a worldwide endevor in the web.
This pilot programs will become the model for other OUR Module, OUR Farm, OUR Community Farm and OUR Farm Network around the Planet. Certainly Mexico is one of the most challenging cities in the World. If this 4 Evokations can survive Mexico City, they can survive everywhere.

Cities around the globe are the focus of this Evokation. The majority of the population will live in a city in the future (1). Cities import their foods from rural areas and other countries. Importing food into cities and allowing the markets become the sole regulators contribute directly and indirectly to environmental degradation and famines in countries and rural areas which export food. (2) (3) (4)

OUR Community Farms are formed by a group of OUR Farms. An OUR Community Farm can share a common physical space, yet many OUR Farms working together in private household spaces can also be considered an OUR Community Farm. OUR Farms that share OUR Modules must be in the same area so they can form an OUR Community Farm. OUR Farms that share non-physical resources such as knowledge and health prevention and a****sment can join an OUR Community Farm around the world using OUR Farm Network. OUR Farms that are part of more than one OUR Community Farm are encouraged to do so because they will create redundant resilient communication bonds between OUR Community Farms.

OUR Community Farms follows a Microfranchise model that can be adapted to any urban area in the World. It will combine on hand the best of a franchise model: A business in a box. OUR Community Farms will provide:

· Easy to replicate model anywhere in the world.
· Easy know-how knowledge.
· Easy to implement standards and procedures.
On the other hand it will combine local wisdom and will encourage local innovation, creativity and always will respect local history, uniqueness and traditions. The best of two worlds.

OUR Farm Network is a platform that Playfarmers utilize to play OURGameplay: to have fun and to share info and surplus resources like food, water, energy, health prevention, health diagnose, surplus medicines and education. It can be accessed via computers with great emphasis on low tech computers and cell phones using SMS so it can be used by people in third world countries where SMS is widely used since it is a cheaper alternative than cell phone calls and even landline phone calls.

2. The Challenge. What will you aim to change, and for whom? Highlight what is the need that you perceive and who will benefit from this change.

What will you aim to change, and for whom?
The aim is to solve water, food, energy, education and health problems for everyone in this planet, one city block at a time, one game at a time.

To achieve this objective we need to change and improve the way we build and retrofit our systems so we can achieve resilient production, distribution and consumption of water, food, energy, education, health prevention and a****sment as well as traditional knowledge systems. All of this will be achieved with games. Yes, games.

Diagnose
What is the structural pattern behind the water, food, energy, education and health crisis? What is failing in these systems?

The answers are:
A) A disruption in centralized systems networks and
B) The lack of redundant resilient systems

I wrote about how changes at a systemic level are required to avoid future emergencieshttp://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/food-energy-water-patterns and how we could use the distributed
network of internet to create resilience
http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/copying-the-internet
.

More conclusions:
1- Centralized networks are more vulnerable to natural disasters and human errors.
2- Poor countries can not afford and should not assume large debts in order to establish these large, vulnerable, centralized public-works networks.
3- We produce enough food for everyone. However, current marketing favors inefficient distribution and the sale of unhealthy or processed food.
4- Food security and food sovereignty create resilience in food production systems.

Highlight what is the need that you perceive and who will benefit from this change.

Demand:
Currently there is a growing demand for affordable fresh organic produce in cities.
Mexico currently holds the non honorable second world place in obesity and first place in child obesity. Obesity is a global pandemic that will cost governments, institutions, families and individuals large parts of their budgets in the coming years. The best way to prevent this is with healthy food. It would be very interesting to partner together with Jamie Oliver in this issue.

Offer:
First we will focus on producing organic food in the cities with an easy-to-start household urban farm in the form of OUR MODULE. The next easy step is to become an OUR Farm and the next easy step is to become an OUR Community Farm always with the help from the OUR Farm Network community. These 4 Evokations are meant, first to establish higher degrees of self-sufficiency. Then with the achievement of a higher degree of self-sufficiency OUR Farms and OUR Community Farms are intended to increase sustainability, resilience, sharing and profitability through pooling farming efforts with the help of OUR Farm Network.

Water, food, energy, education, health prevention and a****sment scarcity can be alleviated through implementation of these 4 Evokations, and even be solved in the long term. They are all designed, ultimately, to build a resilient distributed network - OUR Farm Network. Depending on space, resources and innovation skills OUR Community Farms will provide water, food, energy, education, health prevention and a****sment. All without the cost of large public works. Since this project aim is to become an global distributed network we will be collaborating with Ushahidi, Evoke and similar projects that will enable knowledge sharing around the planet.

3. The Idea. Your solution – what is the action, product, service, project, change that you will initiate? Tell us how will your idea will succeed where others have failed.

The solution is to first improve household food security and resilience through OUR Modules and OUR Farms. OUR Community Farms and OUR Farm Network will create real and virtual community spaces.

The aim is to create a modular microfranchise with OURGameplay making everything easier and fun. This will make easy and fun to get into urban farming. Playfarmers will be self-organizing around a distributed network: OUR Farm Network. Once food security is improved OURGameplay and OUR Farm models can evolve to incorporate new challenges, new knowledge and new goals.

Tell us how will your idea will succeed where others have failed.

It will succeed because there is a growing demand for affordable organic fresh produce in cities and these 4 Evokations are designed to satisfy this demand in innovative ways.

It will succeed because a OUR Glocal-Microfranchise model will create profits for Playfarmers.

It will succeed because sharing knowledge and surplus resources are a requirement for every Playfarmer, OUR Farm and OUR Community Farm through OUR Farm Network.

It will succeed because the OUR Glocal-Microfranchise model will allow a flexible combination of global knowledge, standards and procedures with local wisdom, uniqueness and originality.

It will succeed because members of OUR Community Farm will be able to grow fresh organic produce for self consumption and will also make a profit from selling the surplus in a microfranchise
model.

It will succeed because the OUR Glocal-Microfranchise model is scalable and modular. Every OUR Farm and every OUR Community Farm will grow by adding OUR Modules according to local demand and necessities.

It will succeed because Playfarmers will be able to to profit from selling finished OUR Modules as long as they always make the design info of their OUR Modules available at OUR Farm Network and at their local OUR Farm. This will encourage open source innovation around the planet.

It will succeed because OUR Farm Network will be an easy to access webpage/apps around the globe where people will share global and local knowledge.

It will succeed because Playfarmers will have OURGameplay will make it fun to become a urban farmer.

It will succeed because OUR Modules will be a way to scale up OUR Farm and OUR Community Farms depending on necessities, demand and availability of funding.

It will succeed because there is a growing need for self expression and OUR Modules will provide this space

It will succeed because we will learn from past and current projects that are similar to these 4 Evokations.

It will succeed because we will work as much as possible with existing platforms and building alliances with NGO´s, governments, institutions and projects that are working towards similar
goals.

It will succeed because it is not the project of an individual, it is OUR Farm.

4. The Money. What would you do with your first US$1,000 given or invested in support of your vision?

Evokation 1: OUR Module
Money will be invested in R&D of OUR Modules. End result: An affordable, DIY, space efficient, relatively easy to maintain, food production module. If it is crowd sourced we could
attempt to take sketches from people around the world and spend money
only on materials for water, food, energy, education, health preventive care
and a****sment prototypes.

Evokation 2: OUR Farm
Money will be invested in setting up the first OUR Farm prototype. Since this project is planned to become a household mini farm I will experiment in my own household first.

Evokation 3: OUR Community Farm
Money will be invested in setting up the first OUR Community Farm prototype. At this point people who want to join this prototype will have developed their own OUR Farm.

Evokation 4: OUR Farm Network

Money will be invested in developing a website. This website will be moderated by OUR Team. This platform will enable Playfarmers to play OURGameplay, have fun, share open source innovation, upload info and surplus resources like food, water, energy, health prevention, health diagnose, surplus medicines and education. It can be accessed via computers with great emphasis on
low tech computers and cell phones using SMS so it can be used by people
in third world countries where cell phones with SMS are widely used. The long term plan is to have
is a distributed network of servers around the planet.

Note: This is part of OUR Evokation, it will improve with your input. At this point this Evokation is not my idea it is OUR idea. It has been improved thanks to everyone's comments and other blogs. Thanks to everyone!!! Join OUR Team

This Evokation is not mine, it´s OUR Evokation. If you can contribute- do so. If you can take lead and have expertise in a certain subject then take the lead, take the ideas, improve them make it your project, take the $1,000 dollars, take the mentorships!!! This is not my Evokation, it is yours!!! It is OUR Evokation!!! I don´t care about being right or wrong, honestly I don´t. I do care about successful projects, so if you have critiques positive or negative for OUR Evokation go ahead and critique the project. I can take it, seriously, I went to art school.

I also hope OUR Evokation becomes a space to dream the dreams. A space for you, a space for everyone, OUR space, OUR time, OUR dream

Louise Fresco says "it's time to think of food as a topic of social and economic importance on par with oil" in the minute 13 of her talk at TED (where else could it be) she says that OURFarm is the future! she wants to see ppers growing in the traffic islands, please check: http://www.ted.com/talks/louise_fresco_on_feeding_the_wh***_world.html

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
