Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

People with problems are not the problem : they're the solution.

This rules seems the more important to me : don't pretend to know what people lives.

Experts are educated in universities, that are socially and historically determined. We can't just wait for experts to analyze a social problem, or try to be an expert.

1/ People must find their own solutions.
2/ People must be part of this solutions.

The better exemple is the Foucault's commitment against prisons in the 70's. Some rules were establish to criticize the model of the prison, creating an "no-right" zone - where the little rights maintened weren't respected - in a society based on civil rights. A specific type of study was established with these rules :

1. The questionnary must be made with prisonners and by them
2. The prisonners are interviewers and interviewed : they are filling the questionnary secretly in prisons
3. The people outsides collect the answers and see which are the most present
4. The purpose of the study is to be a hard base of political struggle : from an individual problem, we can do a collective struggle
5. "Outsiders" don't criticize themselves the prisons, they are not gathering informations to say "THIS is intolerable" : they are diffusing what the insiders feels as intelorable.

This create a new speech, against an "official speech", a speech made in the socially/historically determined frame of experts have been determinated to think.

This is not a criticism against experts or abstract "all organization linked to statut quo are domination tools" : this is more a call to extend the frame of thinking, with the people that are on the wrong side of the world today, and not just for them.

Hello Gregory. I think you have described a powerful insight : that people with problems are also people with gifts and specifically, with gifts that can be used overcome problems.

I gave you a +1 in courage for reading Foucault.

I'm kidding of course - the courage point for applying his and your thoughts into service. Welcome to the network!

p.s. Can you please tag your item with LEARN1 so others can find it? Much thanks

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
