Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

It is March 10, 2020 - 6:00 pm…

I am a little bit in a hurry. Actually, end of work had to be at 4:00 pm, but then there was the unexpected phone conference. I have to buy the ingredients for dinner with my wife and my children. I promised to get everything after work. But now it I am afraid that I am a little late. You might ask: “Why too late? Shops are open till late night, sometimes until midnight.” Yes this is true, nothing changed so far. But the range of goods in the shops is different. If you went to the food store in 2011 at the evening, you get almost everything you want. Fruits, vegetables, meat… And everything which was not sold at close time, especially perishables, was thrown away, only to satisfy each customer in her or his culinary affectation whenever she or he entered a shop.

In 2020 you do not get fresh meat in the evening. If you want to have a steak for dinner, you have to buy it in the morning or a day before. But most food in the shops is supplied from regional originators. Meat comes from neighborhood farmsteads and milk products, fruits and vegetables are not transported thousands of kilometers to reach the store. Nevertheless prices are acceptable.

Certainly, this structure now becomes a fate to me. Actually, we wanted to have spicy pork steak with string beans and pasta for dinner. But just when I arrive at the meat counter, a young lady gets the last portion pork steak. Now I have to improvise. Our children still do not know what we wanted to eat and my wife is flexible. “Let’s reduce the meal to pasta with a delicious sauce”, I think. I stroll between the vegetable shelves and – yeah! -  I am lucky. There are still tomatoes and some fresh herbs. Onions and garlic are at home. Everything is fine.

After I went home and my wife and I cooked the sauce, we relish the meal. The tomatoes are so fruity and aromatic. There is not a patch on the water tasting ones from around the world, which I had to buy during studying.

Interesting. Haven't thought of this way to save food. Really no need to throw away tons of food only to satisfy every customer.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
