A
response to Evoke Agent Amanda Jeffery:
Of all the
Evoke Powers, by far the most important and hardest to embody is Spark. Even if you're cooperative and courageous and creative and knowledgeable, with business savvy and communication skills and perseverance and perspective, you're still only one person. How can one change the world without the ability to inspire?

One example of Spark is
The Life You Can Save campaign, run by ethicist Peter Singer. In his book by the same name, Singer sets forth a reasonable and detailed minimal standard for charitable giving. Singer supports his proposed standard with a clear moral argument, addresses some of the main objections to charitable giving, and suggests that charitable giving could plausibly eradicate the worst of global poverty, without requiring some radical willingness for financial sacrifice. As a result, 5231 people so far (including myself) have publicly pledged to at least meet his suggested standard.
I find this example notable because it shows that Spark is not merely a matter of personality. One can sometimes inspire others to action through compelling argument alone.
