A crash course in changing the world.

I'm not one to party or visit clubs, but if I dropped by a club using this dance floor, I might change my mind. The innovators of this Power-generating Dance Floor have hit on something pretty awesome. In fact, it reminds me of the basis of this very website. It is using something that people already spend so much time doing and transforming it into something that can be used to make a difference!

This isn't the first time of heard of piezoelectric applications. Piezoelectricity is made when a specific type of crystal is put under pressure, which I'm sure you've deduced. Did you know that in almost every car, there is a similar use? It's called a "knock sensor" and is used to identify detonation/preignition in the combustion chamber (abnormal explosions of gasoline). The explosion puts pressure on the sensor, which is embedded into the engine block, and that induces voltage that the cars computer uses to take action to prevent further damage to your engine. Absolutely brilliant that someone would use this in a dance floor. Could you imagine how much energy could be produced if speed bumps were made like that? lol The possibilities are endless!

Wow! Thank you for this informative response. It's amazing how the same technology can be used in such vastly different ways. That's incentive to employ our creativity to it's fullest. Carpe creativty :)

Hey Reema, this is a great idea. Did you see Alex Stovell's imagining a similar thing? I don't know whether he knows it exists, he didn't provide a link like you did - you could tell him about it.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
