Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

Preparing for the quest by creating new and innovative relationships.

There is an overriding biological imperative to perpetuate the species. Matt Ridley's book The Red Queen:Sex and the evolution of human nature, is an excellent explanation of this. Just as a parent must give children direction while letting the child develop their own way, as stewards of our planet, we must also act in a way that gives direction, benefiting others as they strive to find and/or follow their ways. The most we can hope for is to be like the banks of a river, giving direction but not restricting natural flows. We are well qualified to do this as a species as long as we remember that it is an unending process, not a finitely controlled state. We must also remember that we depend on others for our direction just as we are doing for each other in this game.

There have been many excellent books written that, can help give us perspective to the reality of the issues being addressed here.

Misha Glenny's book McMafia: A Journey Through the Global Criminal Underworld, can be illustrative of methods used by the criminal elements to achieve things. I'm not suggesting criminal activity but there are certainly creative problem solving methods being developed and used in the world of crime every day. Criminals are definitely goal oriented and have little patience for conditionalities and obstructive people or institutions.

John Perkin's book Confessions of an Economic Hitman illustrates all too well the causes of the problems we are discussing. The old adage "know thine enemy" applies even if it is the World Bank of IMF who just happen to be funding us.

William Easterly's book, The White Man's Burden is especially appropriate for us in this game; it could be renames Urgent Evoke 101. His perspectives on how to succeed in the frustrating world of aiding those in need is invaluable.

William Easterly -- If so much has failed, what should we do?

A simple methodology may be to observe the simple yet effective methods of criminals described by Glenny, apply them in a constructive, legal, ethical manner, cautiously avoiding the perils created by those described in Perkins book at the same time as we "search" for innovative solutions using the approaches described by Easterly. The key to success is often using information that already exists by creating new and innovative relationships.

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
