A crash course in changing the world.
Provide skills, not just finished technologies.
The best method that I know, and would be able to affect myself, would be to provide skills to using technologies as well as providing the technologies themselves. A great example of such is computers and the varied amount of difficulty members of different generations have learning to use them. By having people with professional knowledge of computers teaching those who have difficulty learning to use them we could bridge part of the generational gaps and help others learn to communicate effectively in this modern age. This could even be used in developing countries with the same effect, if applied correctly.

There are other benefits to this form of passing on skills. I personally hate being lectured at in cla**** and would rather learn hands on, or have someone walk me through the learning process. It may be a little childish that way, but I'd rather save my ears for something that I care about or have an interest in so my mind doesn't wander into daydreaming.
In the same way, handing out finished products only encourages lax behavior while striving to 'teach a man to fish'; in particular when at their side, encourages growth.
