So, I'm pulling the "Me" card. Not me in the sense of my own person, but in everything that I am doing, and in the many contacts that I have made through my time here, especially in the last 6 months. Water's my thing, and I'm trying to work towards understanding it better, and in finding solutions both on a local and global scale for the growing water crisis. I've attended several conferences on water (the most recent being here at McGill, wherein all of the GREAT lecturers can be viewed at
http://www.mcgill.ca/water2010/video/ - and I encourage you to watch some of them, for anyone interested in water). But beyond this, I am also "sacrificing" a semester - you'll see why I use quotations in a moment - to study water sustainability on an international scale, taking on a Field Semester to track sustainable resource management practices in a country plagued with growing water issues. Just because said country happens to be Barbados, somehow I lose people here... haha But really, I'm taking this very seriously, and the location matters not, I'd go even if it were in Antarctica! So, while I cant fully explain things yet (I need to go and DO it first) I feel like for the moment, this is my best effort that I can put forth on the water issue, as I continue to meet new people in the field, read extensively on the subject, and join in with fellow Evoker's who are working on issues on their own local scale. I'm very easy to approach! and would love to talk to you about all sorts of water strategies and ideas. I have access to a LOT of information ;) Might as well share it!
