Economic sustainability; provide financial motivation for continued growth over time. Empower people by improving their economic or social status.
I love charity work. It has been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. But, I also feel passionately about sustainability. It has always pained me that there are so many noble and fantastic charities out there, but they depend on the whims and financial condition of people not otherwise involved in their mission. Good causes deserve a stable income stream, and I've recently started to understand that as of now, that means taking the "charity" out of it, and letting the cause make money for itself so it can continue as long as their is a need for it's services.
A lot of charity-oriented people cringe at the idea of charging for their good deeds, but not only does it allow it's work to disconnect from far away peoples and their wishy-washy pocketbooks, but it allows local people to get jobs, which allows more income streams going into their communities, stimulating the economy all around. Yes, sometimes this means the services or projects don't reach as many people right away as we would like, but it can be a slow and steady step in helping the local community get to a place where they can help their neighbors, whether directly or indirectly. It can still have the heart of a charity, while still taking the power away from foreign donors and putting it back into the hands of the people.

The meal
It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
