I awake in Kigal, the capital city of Rwanda. I step into the lobby of my hotel to see athletes from all over the world here for the International Triathlon Union world championships. This is the first year Rwanda has fielded a team for the world's but their athletes, especially their women, have been setting the world on fire for the past four years.
Nike has been so impressed that they have marked a shoe, KigalKix designed for urban runners and a portion of the shoe's profits benefit Rwandan athletes.
Using Google's new global communications grid Rwandan athletes can communicate directly with their US and European counterparts through ultra light wight headsets and Google voice translations allow runner in different parts of the world to chat amiably as they run as though they were right next to each other. Women and girls share stories, give advice and inspire one another.
