The rocks are painted with images of sacred land of Matopo Hills. There is art in every piece of rock wich reveals the way of life in this sacred village. This land is known for its sacred rocks which people from the Ndebele tribe use to consult ancestors for rain making. The rocks in front reveal art about the rain making process which occurs every year in the land of Matopo. While rocks behind have art of animals which are found in this village since it is encompassing Matopo National park and another rock has the image of Cecil John Rhodes who is buried in the land of Matopo Hills. In another rock there is an image of flowing water which indicates a sacred spring which flows water continously.
The upper rocks indicate the art of plants which are sacred in the land which can not be eaten without consulting ancestors. The big rock shows the image of people of the Ndebele tribe how they preserved their environment and how they observed the significance of the sacred land of Matopo. The purpose of this image is to raise awareness about the importance of the sacred land of Matopo to the future generations. This rock indicate the benefits of conserving your environment inthe village, since tourists come from all walks of life to see the amazing rocks, the grave of Rhodes and the beautiful nature of Matopo.
