On kivu.com I found an article about women in Oaxaca, Mexico that got the possibility to share their knowledge about plants, herbs and especially their healing practices with the world. With help from organizations like UNICEF they were able to collaborate and start a health program. They also were accepted by the community and able to train other people through courses and workshops that were offered, so their knowledge will be shared with others and not get lost.
I think this is a very great job. There was a time when people, especially women, were claimed as witches when they had knowledge about herbs and plants and as punishment they were burned. As told in the introduction of this mission, when an elder dies a library burns. I think in this cruel times a lot of libraries were literally burned. Nowadays we unfortunately know so little yet about plants and the nature surrounding us. So after my opinion it's great to save the knowledge about healing practices and plants that could help a lot of people all around the world. And it could even be a good alternative to pure chemical medicine.
