The hero I have chosen to shadow is Leila Chirayath Janah.
I chose this person because the mission statement of her company is aligned with what I mentioned in my first blog post, regarding working with existing infrastructure, using what you have as opposed to trying to invent new things.
Is seems her organization takes the existing infrastructure of the internet and uses it to connect those in poverty to those with jobs. Not only do I applaud the mission of this organization, but also the leveraging of technology, in which I am a big believer.
I have chosen to follow Leila on Twitter, as I believe in this technology as the greatest tool for such live information feedback the world has yet known. The Twitter tool itself, in fact, is very useful for information gathering in a wide variety of circ**stances, including disaster relief, etc...
In addition, from looking ahead to a future mission, I wanted to support a female hero. With all of the adversity and obstacles to being part of such an organization, being female can only make things more difficult, especially on the global stage, on which her gender has undoubtedly made things more difficult.
Go Leila, I'm following right behind you.
