A crash course in changing the world.
My favorite hint, "secret," from Design in Africa is to "share knowledge and skills to continue the innovative process both to and from people and communities."
I think this is the underlying necessity for anything to be done effectively. It is not only about sharing your knowledge base, but having the knowledge of others shared with you. Knowing what I can do and what you can do better brings us together to innovate, to find the solutions that will not only work, but are possible. When knowledge is shared, the world becomes a brighter place filled with opportunities. I can pass what I know and what I can do to others, who in turn pass on that knowledge again and again. When an idea is passed around, it will be viewed at many different angles and be improved upon. When knowledge gets passed back to me, I will improve, I will be able to look at the world in a different light and see what I could not before. The sharing of knowledge and skills does create opportunities and solutions, even if not all the time. What I share has the ability to change the world, even if it is just one idea out of a hundred that can be worked with, the persistence and effort, the expanse of it, will help me change the world.
