SMS information on medical emergencies

In Sweden a large number of people have, through jobs, schools, sport clubs or NGOs been trained in first aid. This means that an estimated 20% of the population have the capacity to keep a persons heartbeating until professional medical help can arrive. Still many Swedes die from cardiac arrest or similiar problems.
Why is this?

First of all, few people are aware of what is going on behind the wall of the house they're walking by, or in the car standing to the side of the road. My idea, which I think is not all that unique, is to make people aware of what is going on around them.

How will this work?

Anyone who has passed a course in First Aid will be offered to sign up for a mobile phone service. When the emergency number receive a call about someone in grave danger of dying the operator uses a computer software to quickly triangulate the positions of the cellphones of all the first aid trained people in the area. Instantly an sms is sent out to the phones in the area and one or more of the people receiving the sms have a chance to assist the distressed person while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

Who wouldn't want to take the chance to help save another persons life?

Hi Johan,

Thanks for sharing that wonderful idea. I really believe that can be a solution though having localized medical clinics that are networked would be a better way because as people, we are always mobile. So you can never be sure of someone's presence in the place at that time yet times of death and health problems are really tough and need urgent action.

So having these clinics that are networked in the way you stated would better in my thinking. In case someone gets a health problem, then sending an SMS to the system that locates the person's location, communicates to the appropriate clinic, then may be the doctors send in an ambulance.

What do you think?

I would only like to clarify that this system is only to be seen as a complement to profesional medical assistance, that is, while waiting for profesionals to arrive. Thus, I agree fully with you that a local network of medical clinics would an excellent idea. It is however costly...

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
