The new currency I used was the Snacks for Service Currency. In my words, SFS.
In exchange for a box of crackers that my friend gave me, I'm servicing her by teaching Japanese lessons.
With another, in exchange for sweets, I'm servicing her by teaching math.
It's a currency with no actual coins, but food in exchange for the work where both sides will benefit.
So instead of paying a friend with actual cash to help teach you homework, you exchange the service in foods (snacks) in this case.
It's quite effective since humans need to eat, and instead of wasting your time going out to use the cash you receive, you automatically get the food during the exchange.
This would also save energy/oil to go purchase food.
In a sense this is going back towards old age trading, but it's still effective and it holds its value, unlike money these days with all the inflation prices.
