Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

So you want a bunch of points on Evoke?

I was asked by a couple people how to get ahead on here. I'm not sure
if its worth it, the points are just for fun from what I've read, the
real prize is all about our Evokations. But if getting points is
important to you, here's what I've been doing:

Add as many people from all different places as friends as you can.

Never add a friend without giving them at least 2 constructive comments
or questions to their blogs and photos. Power voting is nice, but
doesn't get their attention. Insightful comments usually do, but
mindless cheerleading doesn't usually make them go check out your
posts...

Add all the active people as friends. You can tell who is active by the
green online now thing, or better yet by the fact that they're posting
content.

Read their content.

Give them worthwhile responses, constructive criticism, not just 'good job'. Thats what mentoring is all about.

If you do that enough, people will notice you, then check out your content.

Post great content: inspiring blogs, photos, and videos (most of you are already doing that).

Rate your own content if you think it deserves it.

Challenge the network, start a game (you could join on Agent Baird's Photo contest if you want, but make sure they're thought provoking images).

The best thing you can do, and you already seem to be doing it, is
taking action in your own life. In Kareemveer's case, building his own
windmill
was really cool...

Take it to the next level. Now hook it up to a voltmeter or a battery
and make a video or take a picture. Build a bigger one and put it
somewhere windy. Get some friends to do it too. Charge your phone or
computer off it. Post a link to it on Alchemy's NEXTSTEP thread.

Another really important thing is to link to other agents in your
nextsteps and posts. The more stuff you do inspired by other agents,
the more big point boosts Alchemy gives you. Ripping an agent off or
plagiarizing gets you nothing, linking to a post that inspired you to
create something can get you a 50 point bonus, AND a boost to the
Agents that inspired you.

Keep it up, you're on the right track, it takes a time commitment and
some strategy. Make sure that you keep the Evokation in mind more than
anything though, thats going to be the real test. This is just a warmup.

Feel free to forward this post to anyone who joins up...

I'm pretty new here, so this definitely helped me out, I'm glad someone took the time to write it all out. Thanks a lot Agent Heyming.

No problem. Its not about the points, but you can get alot if you just put quality out there.

Thanks Nick, I came here thinking I'd get someone telling us about a gimmic, but just as the site was designed I suppose, I was surprised, and you explained how social networking works, and how to add value to the network. Great post, and deceptively undeceptive title!

I agree but see I think that its not about the points its more about your content. Also how you plan on helping out in the real world. :D

@Hannah - That was my point! The point is, its not about points... but if you do something awesome in the real world, collaborate, and put up good content, you'll get points!

Nick -- very well said. The way to get ahead in EVOKE is, basically, to "play" -- and when you play, especially using "rules" like your suggestions above, along the way you learn a great deal.

You cant play Evoke like you play a normal game....just getting a bunch of points is difficult, as to get people to come to your profile, your content needs to be good, and for that, you genuinely need to think up good ideas....

Right! Words to live by. I have nothing constructive to add, except that your advice here underscores and extends the reality outlined by Evo in her post on building trust.

See you in the network!

Thank You for Your advice.. I really feel is that my instinct is "Points! POINTS!!!" but instead I try to cool down and read what other people have done. It is really educational and inspiring to see how ecstatic and committed people are about EVOKE - and saving the world.

Thumbs up and Collaboration +1!

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

The meal

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal. All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
