A crash course in changing the world.
Humanity can surprise you. The innovation, the imagination, the creativity, the capability, and the potential- endless, literally. It makes tragedy much more tragic in a way... BUT Jessica Lin and the Harvard students engineering a soccer ball to convert mechanical and kinetic energy into useable fuel! Or PopTech Fellows Lebrone Solutions using dirty microbes as a source for power! Or a material that harnesses radiation such as infrafred light using solar cell fabrics that can act as a power 'skin' for devices and constantly charge day or night!
The material is in the testing stages at American University and is similar to the polar compound dye created in Japan that can be injected as a 'battery liquid'. Once this was all sci-fi stuff and now it's becoming real. The only issue I see is access to such technology and its use for profit. The reaction from the Energizer Bunny and Shell might not be so friendly either...
