Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

The currency for my alterative economic transaction this week is... Blackberry Leaves * * *

Along with considerations as to what I would do for this mission, I had also been considering how I would make a contribution to the newly begun 'Evolver Social Movement', which has birthed out of two web-projects I am involved with, the 'Reality Sandwich' on-line magazine and the 'Evolver' social networking site.

I am without a credit card, and so realized that I needed to be paying someone else who has a credit card to make the monthly contribution on-line for me.

As I am now living here at my friend's house, they seemed like the reasonable choice.

The Blackberry leaves fit in to this like so. Sometime last month while I was walking in the park, I noticed the new growth coming up from the Blackberry vines. These young shoots looked so vibrant, so alive, and I realized that they would be a most excellent spring mineral tonic. I knew that Raspberry leaves are used as such. So I picked a good lot, dried them, and have been making my Kombucha tea with them.

As well, though, my friend whom I am living with tried some of this tea. Asking me 'what is it good for?', I related my personal feeling about it being a good mineralizing tonic for the springtime. As well, though, I had read about Blackberry in Matthew Wood's book 'The Earthwise Herbal', and knew that it was an astringent, especially good for loose stools, diarrhea, and for issues with other bodily fluids being eliminated through the GI tract, such as mucus or blood. "Oh, that should be good for me", said my friend.

Sure enough, I found out the next day that they had not usually been having solid stools for several years now, and that this morning, they did! And besides that, they were really attracted to the smell of the leaves and absolutely loved the taste of the tea.

Now, the other day, I realized that the Blackberry leaves have been doing lots of growing, and sure enough, they've started to develop some thorns on the new growth. So I knew it was time to do a large harvest. This idea then made its synaptic jump to my desire to make an on-line contribution, and my mission to use an alternative currency or exchange!

So, two days ago I went to the very large Blackberry patch in the park and got picking. I had checked out the price at 'Mountain Rose Herbs' on the internet, and though currently they are out of stock, I found that their price is $8 a pound for dried leaf. Measuring one bag of dried leaf I already had, I got a rough estimate of how much I would need to pick to make-up $10, the amount I wanted to contribute on-line. I spent about 1 1/2 hours picking, brought the fresh leaves back, put them in the dehydrators, and ended up with $11.80 worth of dried leaf.

So I had previously asked my friend about making this transaction, which they were happy to do, and they are very delighted with the huge amount of Blackberry tea they now have. Upon looking in to making my contribution, I see that to sign-up involves paying for 'monthly contributions', not a one-time contribution, so I will wait and decide what is the best course of action to take with my Blackberry leaf credit.

I love the Spice Trade... the wealth of the Earth, in it's most direct form!

I'd love to see a photo or video you made of the plants or the harvesting or something, for full credit for this mission, because it's otherwise so very wonderful! :-)

Oh, wait, this was you Act, not your Imagine. I was confused. Sorry!

"I love that you've brought this to attention. An extensive database of uncommon but resistant and hardy plants/foods could be developed and organized by climate. Ease of growth and processing should also be taken in to account. I will try to…"

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
