This is a really cool resource:
You can get news updates, browse causes, and join to help fight for your cause by signing petitions to let the big trouble-makers (or solvers) know that WE know what's up. And we want a change.
A great complementary site would be
Do Something, which, from their very homepage declare they are powering offline action. A huge volunteer resource network with causes, opportunities, steps to creating your own... action.
But I've also been watching a few TED talks and just thinking about the way things are going these days.... there's increasing motivation and room for grassroots movements.
A) because it works, and
B) because people are finally starting to realize that
the
automated, mass production systemwe apply to everything we can produce, from clothes to food to educated people
is not the answer. Not if we actually want to hold on to our souls.
So far I haven't found any particular Hero to follow locally,
but I'm on the hunt.
