A crash course in changing the world.
In my search for a hero, I came across the story of Brigham Young University student engineers who designed an innovative and cost-effective apparatus that enables poor women from Tanzania turn abundant coconuts into valuable coconut oil in 2008. Their story highlighted here is further evidence of what social innovation is all about. I searched to see if/how this innovation is being used and found David Okello, a social entrepreneurs from who runs Coast Coconut Farms in Kenya who shares his story. Other people who have been impacted by the device can be found here. I am still in search of a hero - anyone with any clues?
