I agree that it is may not be the most urgently pressing global issue of our times but ten years from now the disparity between the digitally literate and the illiterate in the world will have some interesting ramifications. Increasing access and availability of digital technology will give the advantage to the people that know how to use digital technology effectively to not only spread information but to create it. A friend of mine volunteers for an organization that provides free programming cla**** to underprivileged girls. I believe that initiatives like that will become more important ten years from now as the world becomes more "connected." A lot of very interesting work could be done in leveling the playing field in the area of future information sharing. That's what I'll be doing.
And also enjoying being married, raising children, walking my dog -- that kind of thing.
