From the articles linked to in the prompt for the learn portion of the "Future of Money" mission I've grown interested by several of the ideas and theories presented. Of all these theories and ideas the one I think will make the biggest change in "how we use money in the future" is the "Future of Money" article from WIRED (found here:
http://www.wired.com/magazine/2010/02/ff_futureofmoney/all/1 ).
Though during the first half of the article I didn't really think the ideas presented would make the biggest change from all the possible things that could be talked about in the other articles I was much more enthusiastic about this article by the time I was done.
I still feel that using twitter for payments will not be the next big thing since, already, there aren't a lot of people on twitter (as compared to the number of people in the world) and it really isn't a very secure medium of payment, despite the current number of users paying through twitter (15,000 right now).
The part of the article that really clicked with me as heavily affecting or, rather, being quite accurate about what I think the future of money will be, and maybe even should be, and that is that banks will have a much less prominent presence and importance in the world because of the ability to transfer funds independently from banks, like is currently being done with paypal.
If this idea was elaborated upon and explored, rather than the idea of payments online through twitter, specifically, I might have liked this post more, but either way the potential of banks to lose their power in the future would really change "how we use money in the future"
