One decade ago women were still fighting to achieve real gender equality, many equality advocates decided to work together to achieve real gender equality that started giving women rights that didn't require to mimic those that men had before and making the household a responsibility of two instead of just one person, usually the women in the religious and cultural tradition of the 20th century.
Things have changed a lot since then. Ten years ago entrepreneurship programs were launched where women were not only given education on how to run a business, but also loans to start and make their businesses sustainable. This program is now hosted by the same women that graduated from it making a huge difference in the economy of the world where women are now the main characters. This has fundamentally changed the rights of women around the world. With more economic resources available for them women have selected political careers achieving great developments in equality laws that now give them enough rights to decide their future. Amongst other things women have developed schools in poorer zones where education is given for free and entrepreneurship projects are funded with micro loans. The rate of mortality in women has decreased a lot, specially in Africa and South America and finally there's been and advance in birth control programs and sexuality education programs that have given women clear choices of what they can do and how to take care of their health.
The change has been steady and that's what has made the biggest impact. Many people have pushed for instant revolutions in the past and the results were not as good. The constant little improvements to this program have made the difference. It started 10 years ago with a 2 months entrepreneurship program that then was replicated by other women in other cities and this has expanded the educational model. On the other hand the internet has helped to spread the micro loans movement where a simple click could give women entrepreneurs all the funding they need to start their small business. With financial stability women are now able to look for their health and start attending education programs about their how to run their household, sexuality and academic programs for personal growth. This has all developed from the small groups of women teaching entrepreneurship back in 2010.
How far will we go in the next ten years?
