In 10 years I could be anywhere but let's just say the Pacific northwest. I'm sitting down to dinner on a summer evening with my wife (any perhaps kids) as the sun sets. We have a salad with greens grown on the premises, cheese from the guy with goats across town, and a sunflower oil and balsamic vinegarette produced by the local winery. And wine. The chicken will be from our twice monthly CSA delivery from the local chicken farmer (so we don't have to raise and butcher our own, they also sell good eggs) and flavoured with home grown garlic and onions. Dessert will consist of early berries from the landscaping like strawberries, salmon berries, and early blackberries.
The food is rich and flavourful. It also provides satisfaction knowing the origin of each ingredient and the positive effect that practice has on the local community. I will always have berry bushes in my yard and a small plot of garlic. It's just too good not to.
