As the board meeting for Upstate New York's Network (UPNY.net) finishes in the CyberCede tower in the city of Syracuse, NY, I draw a long deep breath of satisfaction for the work that has been accomplished in helping the Upsate New York economy recover. I walk toward the window-wall and look out over all of the green roof-tops surrounding the tower. Far below, I can see that the Segway and electric horse lanes are congested with traffic, and I'm reminded of the pending city legislation regarding their expansion and the re-purposing of the remaining automobile lanes which are pleasantly underutilized. I turn from the window to smile at several of the business leaders who pioneered new battery technologies, without who's contributions, our transition into The Emerald City would not have been possible.
The open stairways that wind throughout the tower, make using them a pleasant experience. The live trees and running water of the central atrium help to align me with my pending vacation. Never have I worked in a building with cleaner air. I wonder if my coming trip to England will provide me with as much of a stress relief as the carp swimming in the company pool do.
Back in the CyberCede Network Operations Center (Cyber-NOC), there are no fish. I see, instead, the three dimensional information displays which report, to my satisfaction, that the entirety of Upstate New York online businesses have been patched and updated to defend against the latest cyber-threat. The trending reports show an unprecedented cycle of awareness and response time reduction. I slip on a few finger-reflectors and manually pull through the data to quickly see that the last cyber-compromise resulting in the loss of private information occurred over a year and a half ago. "You are all doing excellent work", I say. "The entire team is exceeding my expectations. Please let the next shift know I said so."
I walk through the data-center where CyberCede technicians are working with other Upstate New York vendors to bring another exabyte data storage array online to handle the new Canadian Remote Storage and Recovery contract. I am pleased to see the pile of bio-degradable packaging where the array was unpacked. I step over a pile of ecocradles, which I recognize as an Upstate New York product manufactured in Troy, New York. "Don't let me stop you from what you are doing, but if any of you want to take these ecocradles home for your composts, feel free to help yourselves", I say as quickly as possible. The technicians smile and nod as they continue to assemble the new array. Never is the phrase "time is money" more accurate than on a fixed price contract.
On my way to the monorail station, I walk through our Systems Re-purposing Department, and see work benches filled with donated computers being imaged with the CyberCede version of Ubuntu Linux, Cyber-Buntu. I marvel for a moment at the Artificial Intelligence that governs the process.
While standing on the monorail platform, waiting for the rail to Sullivan, I realize I hadn't stopped in on the Online Marketing division, and need an update on the enhanced reality services being rolled out while I'm on vacation. I pull my iPad from its recycled sleeve, and instantly power-on. I tap the logo icon I have reconfigured to connect me via video to the Online Marketing Division. Before I actually initiate the call, I see the priority secure communication from Alchemy come in.
It looks like my vacation destination just got changed to Japan.

The meal
It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
