Where I live, in Austin Texas, we have a water crisis. We shouldn't have this crisis, because we get as much rain as Portland Oregon, and if people all had downspout water cistern collection, every house could have its own water supply.
When I own my own house, I will collect water this way.
I have already taken action to help clean water, by working with yayasan emmanuel in jakarta, Indonesia, and helping people in Jakarta's slums with a mobile health clinic to treat their water-borne illnesses and diseases resulting from a lack of clean water. They are now installing village water filters and they have clean water for clothing and for drinking. They are picking trash to sell and some people are earning enough to buy shoes and more filters. It's becoming a little industry to sell clean water to other people in slums around them. I am very proud of yayasan emmanuel and how I helped.
