Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

What happens next on Urgent Evoke......

I will share my ideas answering Alchemy's questions below:

WHICH great challenges and social problems should the EVOKE Network tackle next?
  • Honeybees are dying, we have to find the cause and solve it. If they disappear humankind only has 4 years of survival.

WHERE in the world should the network try to build up new EVOKE communities?
ALL around the world.
Exact locations on my own list of priorities:
  1. Bolivia
  2. The amazon forest
  3. The mediterranean coast (from Portugal to Istanbul)
  4. Afganistan
  5. Kosovo
  6. Palestine
  7. Mauritania
  8. Tibet
  9. Madagascar
  10. Australia
  11. Indonesia
  12. Polynesia

WHO would you encourage to play Season 2?
Youngsters from developed countries, they must be encouraged to participate, they are the addressees of the majority of my intentions.

Female participants from repressive societies should also be encouraged to play UEvoke we have to invite/motivate them in a very special and subtle way.

HOW would you change the game for Season 2?

Translation to as many languages as possible, so more and more people has access to it

WHAT new tools would you want as an EVOKE agent?
I would like to have a tool, which lets agents know IN A VERY RESPECTFUL way that their
piece of evidence is not enough. For example when they take a picture from GoogleImages and post it, they are just transferring information (not considering
a copyright breach) without making any own contribution, and that is just not enough effort!

I would
like to click a thumbnail in such cases and be able to explain myself and offer
suggestions for improvement.

I would like to have an option in order to post pieces of non-evidence. Currently, agents are making hundreds of points by logging comments or ideas that do not constitute any real evidence for a given mission. This can upset players who are here for the fair play

(you all must have noticed by now that Ternura is not here because of the
points
).

I would also like to have an extra slot on the power vote chart to award HUMAN VIRTUES to a given piece of work. This was discussed by my fellows here:

http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/poll-which-human-virtue-d...

WHY would you come back for a second Season?
I would love to come as a mentor.

What more would you want from the experience?

While playing UEvoke I have noticed that most youngsters have absolutely no idea of what is really going on, not on UEvoke but with their own society. Their comments are empty; they think that every body on earth has the same quality of life and the same access to basic services.

They just don't know about the hardship that their grandparents had to suffer to achieve the level of welfare that they currently enjoy (and waste).

I will not even mention opportunities here, because these guys don’t have any idea of what is their purpose on life, they just don’t care. They do not know what is like to yearn for nothing more than a remote chance to grab a thin lifeline.

And I am not referring to kids from developed societies; it's sad, because these poor contributions come form every point of the globe.

For the thoughts exposed above, from my next experience in UEvoke I would want to BEE :-) the change that changes all around me.

Thanks for listening!

It's very good article and many focal points you give here.
It's much more clear to me the point of gamming, learning, and changing the world that you put here.
I agree that it was scrambled all together maybe too much and was hard to maintain the game for all of us.
Thanks Ternura.

I like it, but you can't go against the Pirates of the Mediterranean. They just got a movie deal with Disney.

Hi guys! thanks for the feedback.
I will bust those pirates just after the movie premier then, so they have a lot of $$ for the bail! ha, ha, ha. who is the pirate here? ;-)

I keep wondering what the point of Evoke is. Is it to educate poor people in Africa about how hard life is? I'm surprised that those people have internet access. Or is it to educate privileged people about how hard life is for the others? It doesn't seem to be succeeding in that respect. I agree with you about the overall quality of posts and what is considered acceptable.

@Chris this comment, coming from you has GREAT VALUE.
There have been some comments during the past months, there were agents complaining about the difficulty to get access to a proper/reliable connection (in the "third world"). That precarious condition was hindering their participation on the game.
I think this game is not directed to the poorest people in Africa, Asia or South America, because for a start, they just don’t speak English!!
The evidence that we are submitting will be reviewed before they extend the certificates (this what I understood, and also is my hope).
About the real purpose of Uevoke, I am still trying to figure it out. Especially the intention of QUEST No. 9
Thanks for the visit! T

You make some excellent points and even in just a single day it struck me that unless you are familiar with English, you don't get to share and learn with the game. Translation programs aren't that great so far, but we should be able to find some way to include non English speaking individuals. I bet the U. N. might have something up their sleeve where Google Translate has fallen down. I'll have to check that out. Great insights Ternura!

All excellent points.

Regarding your mention of the bees...I noted this link yesterday: http://www.experienceproject.com/beepetition

A young boyscout is trying to have the beekeeping badge reinstated. Want to join his cause by signing his petition?

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development. The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
