Urgent Evoke

A crash course in changing the world.

I am not pointing any fingers here. It's only day two here for me and I'm still finding my way around and learning a great deal. However, I've already noticed that a few folks seem to be treating this wh*** thing like one big popularity contest. Doesn't that completely miss the point?

I thought EVOKE was about learning how to better the world and helping and encouraging others in a community to do the same, not stroking your own ego. The points system will become utterly meaningless if the game is just about getting as many as possible in the quickest time with the least amount of effort. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought they were meant to be rewards and had to be earned, not amassed.

I mean, what exactly is this game for?

I also have only been here two days, but I guess I'm just not seeing what you're seeing yet. I guess that's because I've been reading everything and giving power votes that seemed appropriate to the content of what I read. I've been learning a lot and have learned some interesting things about my self and my own motivations, for one. It's also helped me to really really think about the problems we have an possible creative solutions to them.

ONE thing I think "this game is about" is awareness. To make real changes, you have to first become educated on the problems at hand. So...anyway...I'm just not obsessing on the wh*** "points" and whatnot at the moment. I'm just really reading and reading and rolling things around in my own mind. To solve problems....people first have to begin thinking about the realities we're facing. For me...the game is effectively doing that. And that...is a start.

Oh...and the power point I gave you was for courage, BECAUSE...you're ballsy enough to speak your mind, and that takes some amount of courage. And that...is how you "earn" points, so far as I'm concerned...by thinking "aloud" and by taking action.

Yes that's what it means for me also Lori, I've been really impressed by most of what I've seen so far. Not so impressed with some of the rest. I think you've got the right idea... well I hope so, because what you describe is not far from what I'm doing! :)

Fourth of July on the Lake

This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. The watershed association has done a wonderful job protecting these waters from the damaging effects of development.The wood grill was finally ready to cook on, so we didn't miss the propane tank fueled grill anymore. The food actually tasted fresher than in the past and was easy to keep fueled.Dad was very proud of the solar hybrid…See More

Stinging Nettle

In this blog post I will focus on a plant that is abundant in our nature, and which is immensely nutritious. It's of course the Stinging Nettle. Let's start with the chemical constituents of this plant:37 % Non-Nitrogen-Extracts19 - 29 % Ash9 - 21 % Fiber4 % Fat22 % ProteinOnce the leaves are drid, their protein content can reach an astounding 40 %, which is much higher than beef, which even under the best of circ**stances can never exceed 31 % protein. In addition the Stinging Nettle consists…See More

All of the out of date foodstuffs have been automaticaly thrown away by the fridge, they will be recycled tomorrow as animal feed or something. I see i have organic local eggs and some local cheese. Future

FutureToday is 2020/1/1. It is just like yesterday. The war is still continuing. It has started since 2010. In 2010, that year was a horrible year. Almost every energy ran out. Every country’s governments were crushed down at the same time. There were riots everywhere. All of the big company’s bosses were killed xdeadx in the riots. Troops fought each other everywhere. Food was bought up xawayx at once. There were no more food supplies in any shops. The economy was all crushed down. All the…See More

public servants

The exchange works directly for state and public workers and servants. It gives them credit in exchange for the amount of public work they contribute to the community. The more constructive they are based off a base rate the more credit they recieve.
