The Art Works Projects is a Chicago-based organization whose mission is to use design and the arts to raise awareness of and educate the public about significant human rights and environmental issues. They achieved some recognition a few years ago with a travelling exhibition called Darfur | Darfur.
I had a chance to volunteer with them in the past and they are a fantastic organization. Please check out their recent work: WOMEN BETWEEN PEACE AND WAR
I'll try to contact Director Leslie Thomas for and interview. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll add them.
