It is worth dreaming about those games that would help teaching and learning process... to be attractive, entertaining and educational at the same time... It is a big challenge.

Great Work! A similar concept to the Playpower initiative founded by Derek Lomas. Distributing these computers to those who would truly benefit from the technology is arguably the biggest hurdle to overcome!

Good post. (Imagine - Part2)
It sounds like you would fit in this novel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Diamond_Age
Perhaps you will be the mysterious Dr. X. But instead of books it would be a device capable of all imaginable things. If you have time and this is something you are serious about - read the book. Its is an intersting look into an imagined future.

The world is made up of systems. When you interact with a system, you make a change in it. People can learn the consequences of what they do to a particular system, but it's hard to learn that from, say, a book. A book contains static knowledge; you have to read it and then interpret it before you can figure out how to apply it to a system.
Great stuff! Problem solving games definitely keep the brain ticking and interested at the same time. My computer science lecturer uses simple games such as light-bot to teach us simple programming techniques.
All the best for your endeavours, I look forward to seeing and hearing more from you.

I'm in the same boat. I've almost completed my degree in Game Art and Design, and my friend and I are already discussing starting up a company. I've always felt that there's a lot of potential in the educational ability of games, but the formula that people have used in the past leave a lot to be desired. There's got to be a way for games to be addictive fun and also educational, but most of the ones I've played always end up being tedious.

Educational games have lots of potential Hannah. Maybe you could group together with some of your fellow EVOKE agents and think about how you might use educational games in developing countries - working with the constraints associated with the lives of these people. Drop me an email with some evidence that you are rolling with this and there will be +50 collaboration points in it for you. I have given you +10 spark for igniting interest within the network. :-)
