The fact that today in India we have a 8.5 percent growth while the rest of the world is struggling (except Australia of course) is a result of taking care of macro-economic fundamentals as best as the planners could so that the growth that emanated from it were sustainable and not erratic.<br />

Most of the <i>developmental planning</i> in countries like India that focused on building something for the longer time horizon has always seemed to have focused on economic sustainability to generate value. Another reason why in India, I reckon the Planning Commission has done such a fantastic job by creating a context for their planning and really ensuring that their interventions were delivering sustained results and therefore <b><a href="http://www.urgentevoke.com/profiles/blogs/innovation-must-deliver-value">generating endearing value</a></b>.
