I am surprised the comedian in you has delved so deep in such a serious matter as this which is quite interesting I must say. Since you have put up this post, I thought of taking this opportunity to explain that there is no need to fear India's motives which has always been peace oriented and a torch bearer of democracy.
I am surprised the comedian in you has delved so deep in such a serious matter as this which is quite interesting I must say. Since you have put up this post, I thought of taking this opportunity to explain that there is no need to fear India's motives which has always been peace oriented and a torch bearer of democracy.
India is a structural and fully functional democracy and a very promising vibrant economy like Israel. India has progressive views of its water resources and is quite resourceful in planning innovative ways to effectively manage water for its economic development. India has not been accepting any institutional foreign government aid after 1980 (roughly the same time Israel stopped accepting institutional aid as well). It was only through resourcefulness that India has been able to build this amazing economy. Unfortunately India is surrounded by failed nation states and communist regimes.

India is a vast country with a vibrant economy and a massive agricultural framework. In spite of the best efforts to create an alternative to the monsoons, parts of India is quite starved of water. There is a massive focus to develop rain water harvesting, to modernize agriculture and to create an integrated approach to manage water by connecting the rivers and using nature's bounty to harness new ways to capture water. This has been done without contravening any international accord so far. The Chinese are building as many as 200 dams to stop the Brahmaputra river flow into India for reasons that India understands.

Strategically speaking, India has absolutely no interest in creating a "water starved nation like Somalia" on its border. It would be sad if that happens though out of mismanagement of water conservation practices, primitive agricultural practices and lack of a functional democracy in any neighboring country that India shares its border with.
