Part of my motivation is that many officers in my area speak English only and there are times when we deal with hispanics (where I would say the culture is a bigger difference than the language... I once had to tell a woman that I am not taking her husband away forever, as her experience taught her that when the police come the man either spends forever in jail or is executed, this was a non-drivers license traffic offense (in and out within 1 hr)) as well as people with other communication issues. My friend and I were joking one day that we will never use our language skills in our job (due to where we live) because most people here speak English. That was the day for the one Spanish translation and he was called 1 hour later to do a Japanese translation.

Fourth of July on the Lake
This past weekend was the annual celebration at the lake house in Connecticut. It is amazing that the lake is still so clear and beautiful after all these years. It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
