Domestic Violence Commercial
NOTE: I had to reupload this video from Youtube as the caption kind of poo pooed how Australians handle domestic violence. I don't agree with that, so I took downloaded the video for upload from my system so I could remove the caption.
This is a commercial from Australia but it holds true everywhere. As a former police officer, I take domestic violence seriously. It needs to be stopped. We need to educate victims of the domestic cycle and provide the belief and opportunities for them to break that cycle.

Thanks Jake. What people don't realize is that while the victims generally speaking are women, there are a large number of men who are victims of domestic violence as well. Pride typically keeps men from reporting it. Before I became a cop, I always thought it was the decks were stacked that men were the only ones that committed DV, but as a cop, I dealt with as many situations where the woman was the physical aggressor as the men. So I go into every situation with an open mind, but in the end I've found that the victim is being victimized because they either don't believe they deserve better or they don't know how to get there. Victimization is a paralyzing event and leaves the person less capable of standing up to the offender than before.
I believe the solution is education and understanding. Victims need to be educated that 1) They are worth more than that, 2) There is a way out.

It is 7'oclock, I was late home from work due to an assignment that i wanted to get ahead on. By the time I get home I am feeling extremley tired and I cannot be bothered to make a proper meal.
