Thanks for posting this video Kimberlynne. I am glad I could learn more from you about the work of Kiva, impacting the lives of millions in need. I'd be checking out the website to learn more about the organization.

Just wanted to clarify: Kiva uses LOANS to fund entrepreneurs, not donations. Which means you get your $25 back after a few months. All the more reason to sign up with them. I love Kiva! I've made seven loans so far,two have been paid back completely and the rest are ongoing. :)

I think my money is doing way more good being used as a loan to start a business, than just sitting in my bank account gaining 1.5% interest.

Very nice! Would love if you can find a way to let Kiva know how their work inspires you, and connect them into the EVOKE network...

Kiva is indeed amazing. What I find so great about Kiva is that it also makes sense in terms of business. Actually, when you look at the % of loans which are not paid back, the % is surprisingly low. So there you have it, hundreds or thousands of individuals from around the world pledging to loan money to a project, and the recipient is so filled with gratitude for all the support (democratization of credit, as the founders once put it) that they Really make sure that they re-pay the loan on time. Kiva is amazing, and I only wish some of the success stories from there is spread to even more people, to inspire them to think about development aid in new ways as well.
