I still only have 4 points on entrepreneurship and I have to say I am not at all surprised because I am still struggling to understand the difference between a social business and a charity. Google talks and the wonderful Muhammad Yunus of Grameen bank are helping me on this one. One difference is that with a charity the money is only spent once while with a social business like Grameen or Kiva it can be turned round time and time again. This talk by Yunus is 44 minutes long, it is worth watching if you want to see something wonderful, the world turned around. It shows compassion and understanding coupled with faith in people in a world of banking and business.

I didn't really understand the water business he speaks about in the middle so I'll have to listen again. A social business is one in which the company does good to people and the environment and doesn't make a profit. You get out what you put in and other people and the planet are better off for it.

For my Learn 3 I found this alternative to electrically powered incubators. The project, run by Jane Chen, really seems to embody the virtues of the social innovator that we have been talking about. I'm not going to try to describe it too much here, the video does a much better job.
